Sulabha was a female scholar in the ancient Mithila Kingdom. She was a Vedic scholar and a learned woman who belonged to the mendicant order. She was well-versed in Yoga.
Andal, also known as Kothai, Nachiyar, and Godadevi, was the only female Alvar among the twelve Hindu poet-saints of South India. She was posthumously considered an avatar of the goddess Bhudevi.
Vagambhrni was a woman seer mentioned in the Rigveda. Women seers were called Rishikas and Brahmavadinis.
Lalleshwari, (c. 1320–1392) also known as Lalla was a Kashmiri mystic of the Kashmir Shaivism school of Hindu philosophy. She was the creator of the style of mystic poetry called vatsun or Vakhs, meaning speech.
