Dates

The program runs for 10 days from October 15 – 24, 2025. You should plan to arrive at Lakulish Ashram on October 14 and depart on October 25. Options to reach Lakulish Ashram, Hardiwar, and return are below.

Getting there

Fly into Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. There are several options to reach the ashram

Option 1: Charter Bus. Recommended.
We will arrange buses departing from The Lemon Tree International, Aerocity, New Delhi, at 9:00 AM on October 14. There are many hotels in Aerocity if you fly in early. Book your bus ticket on the form at the bottom of this page. The cost round-trip will be $75, including a lunch stop. The buses will return to Indira Gandhi International Airport by about 6 PM on October 25. International departures can be safely booked from 9 PM onwards. If your flight is after midnight on October 25, you may want to book a room for the night of October 25 to rest.

Option 2: Internal Flight. Book yourself.
There are daily flights from Delhi (DEL) to Dehradun (DED). From Dehradun, you can take a taxi or Uber to Lakulish Ashram.

Option 3: Train. Book yourself.
There are 2 Shatabdi Express trains daily from Delhi to Haridwar. Great to experience Indian railways. From Haridwar Railway Station you can take a taxi or Uber to Lakulish Ashram.

Option 3: By Road. Book yourself.
You can take an intercity taxi from Delhi to Lakulish. Expensive and Lakulish Ashram is not easy to find for Delhi drivers.

Accommodations

The rooms in Lakulish Ashram are simple and clean with bathrooms. Rooms are shared, with either two or three people per room. You can enter the name of a roommate on the reservation form below. A very few single rooms may be available at extra cost. We will only know closer to the time.

Visas, Health, Waiver, Money

Visas: You are responsible for acquiring the required tourist visa.  eVisas are easier, quicker, and less expensive. You can only apply for a Tourist eVisa within 30 days of travel to India. If you think you will go to India more often, get a longer Tourist eVisa or a 10-year multiple-entry Tourist Visa. Please check with your Indian Embassy, or for more information, see https://indianvisaonline.gov.in.

Health Concerns: You may be subject to jet lag, varied climatic conditions, bumpy train and bus rides, dust and air pollution, very different food, crowds of people, unfamiliar sights and sounds. These all take their toll and can be overwhelming for the first-time visitor to India. Still, the incredible hospitality, warm humanity, and abundant spirituality always come through and touches everyone deeply and mysteriously. Bring what comforts you in the way of any health needs or medications: anti-diarrhea tablets, mosquito repellent, sun block, basic first-aid items, etc. In case of emergencies, doctors and pharmacies can be found. If you have any medications that you need, you must bring them with you. Bottled water is always available for you to purchase, but please carry a water bottle that you can refill to minimize plastic use. Contact us if you have any special health concerns. Here is a good website for travelers with health concerns: www.shoreland.com/

Immunizations and Travel Waiver: No immunizations are required, but several are recommended by the Atlanta CDC.

What to Bring. Pack as lightly as possible. Bring a yoga mat. The weather will be warm to hot, but it may rain. A travel umbrella is good for rain and shade. Passport and money must be kept securely. Have a copy of the info and visa pages of your passport. Call your bank to tell them that you are traveling in India. There are ATMs everywhere. But as the ATMs are not always reliable, or easy to find, you should bring the equivalent of about $200 – $500 US, in your currency, to change into Indian rupees to have on hand for shopping and sundry discretionary expenses (tips, chai, etc.) It is easiest to change money at the airport upon arrival. If you need an Indian SIM for your mobile, you can do that at the airport as well.
